Once upon a time I did this model UN thing…

It was my third trip to Canada and first to Montreal. (The other two were visits to Toronto.) The McGill Model UN was pretty awesome.

I met a bunch of people there, and now I’m wondering if I’ve run across any of them without knowing since I’ve been down here in DC. Wish I could remember more names.

Looks like there’s a paper I wrote about the whole thing… I’ll have to see if I have an electronic copy somewhere.

More classic finds…

Two trading cards from the early 90s: a pack of Desert Storm trading cards (from Topps) featuring this “dashing” pic of then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney… and a Garbage Pail Kids card (I’ve got a lot of these somewhere).

There are also packs of art trading/collector’s cards featuring art from Boris Vallejo, Greg Hildebrant, Frank Franzetta, and Moebius. Less notable: Youngblood and Ghost Rider sets. The disparity in art quality between the former batch and the latter is amazing…

Artifacts of days gone by…

Yeah, that’s a bunch of more than ten year old, 8 hour, VHS tapes. And they’re all full of random TV show episodes from about 1998.

I was toying with the idea of converting them into a digital format to check out the old commercials and whatnot, but after watching stuff yesterday from another tape, I don’t think it’s worth it at all.

Of course, there are still some tapes from the two and a half large boxes I have that will get converted. Some of the stuff on them is irreplaceable. 🙂
