Bustin’ Out

This is my last night back up at the old family homestead.

That means I’ll be back to the land of decent Internet connections long before this time tomorrow. (Of course, it also means I’ll have to go to sleep at a decent hour since I have to work on Tuesday.)

Just about done setting up all the stuff on the new computer. Yay! File transfers. (And an older printer, which needed to have drivers and things downloaded… which took forever… because of the low connection speed.)

Also got in a quick game of the Ghostbusters game I backed. Pretty solid mechanics, could use a quick reference sheet, works okay for two players, would be more fun with 4, I’ll know soon how it works single-player (since I want to finish out the campaign).

Other than that, lots of family time and lots of food and stuff.

Also lots of rain.

And just now it’s getting almost seasonable cold.

Anyway, check out today’s vlog for a quick message, mostly just to make sure I don’t miss a day.

Tech Conspiracy

Still at the old family homestead with a painfully slow Internet connection… and I’ve spent the day setting up the new computer that I bought for the family… including transferring over a ton of old files from the old machine (which is still running Vista… and I use the term “running” loosely… it’s more like a leisurely saunter). So, another short vlog today, being uploaded late, and only making it online thanks to my phone’s data plan.

Yes, technology continues to conspire against me. Yes, it’s very frustrating. Yes, I will be doing a Star Wars: The Force Awakens review vlog at some point before the end of the year… at least I plan to. (Short version: Go see it as soon as you can.)

Hope everyone’s enjoying their holiday. I’m here for another couple of days before I head south again (back to the land of decent Internet speeds).

Anyway, check out today’s vlog

Christmas Today

The slow Internet connection here continues to taunt me.

Uploading this video via the DSL network here would have taken over an hour.

The infrastructure in this area leaves a bit to be desired.

But! It’s Christmas, so I got off to a late start even putting this thing together… because I was busy putting other things together. Like the computer I got for my sister and her family.

The whole day was spent with family. Brunch, watching people water skiing on a lake that’s normally frozen solid around now, putting that computer together, finally getting home again. All the normal things.

Good times, all around.

Check some of it out in today’s vlog.

Christmas (Eve) Flashback

I had planned something a little fancier for the Christmas Eve post. Unfortunately, it never got any father than the planning stage.

So, instead, you get a wee photo montage of absolutely ancient Christmas pictures from an old family album.

Because that’s all I’m going to have time to do before I had to head out to the annual family Christmas Eve get-together.

Tomorrow is Christmas. There will be a vlog. I have no idea just yet if I’m going to be able to pull off what I have in mind… but we’ll see.

This slow upload speed here is killing me. Almost as much as the slow download speed. I forget sometimes how spoiled I am. (My phone connects at about ten times the wired speed here.)

Hope all of you are having a fantastic Christmas Eve (or, y’know, a great Thursday evening).

Take a minute (literally) and watch through today’s vlog.

Christmas Tunes (Part 5)

Final round of songs!

Go back and check out parts 1, 2, 3, and 4.

The final bunch are some more fun songs. Some a little edgier than others.

So, that’s 25 songs that I really dig in the Christmas season. Of course there are plenty more. But these are the ones that made the list this year (and have been on the playlist I created a while back for years now).

Let me know what else you’d like to see on the list… what are your favorites? What ones can’t you stand?

Watch me go on about this batch in today’s vlog and then talk to me about your holiday songs!
